4 years behind us and only 6 more months to go!
April 15, 2025On Thursday, 10. April 2025, Tumor-LN-oC partners connected online for the project M48 consortium meeting to discuss updates and progress, perform necessary troubleshooting and finalise plans for the final stretch of the project.
With the integration of all modules of our Tumor-Lymph node Organ-on-Chip platform currently underway at ICCS – NTUA in Athens, we are on track to finalise all validation experiments of the integrated platform by the end of our project project in October 2025.
✔️ All microfluidics elements (chip with cilia and actuators, pumps and connectors, relevant sensors, thermal chamber) are ready and have been validated in various use cases and experiments
✔️Parallisation of the microfluidic platform to support up to 6 chips at a time is progressing successfully
✔️Real-time imaging of migrating cells will be facilitated by micro optics, supported by a software and machine learning component which is able to monitor and track the cells of the chips
✔️ The bioprinting process has been set up and optimised for printing on the chip
✔️The spectroscopy module will be transferred to Athens installed in the coming week to allow for chemical detection of different cell types on the chip
✔️Complete software integration to control all elements from a single workstation is in progress
✔️Support to the consortium in terms of regulatory, dissemination, management and intellectual property is continuously provided by specialised partners
We are looking forward to a fruitful final months of this exciting project, and hope that in the medium term, our platform will become a useful tool for metastasis diagnosis and finding the most efficient drug for a specific patient, supporting clinicians in personalised medicine efforts.
🙏Thanks to our great consortium (only partly pictured) for the pleasant and successful meeting!
